The center of our mission here at Bethlehem is hunger relief and aid to those in need. Hunger is present in developing countries and here at home. We believe we are called by God to care for our neighbors.
“When you do this to the least of my brethren, you do this unto me.” Matthew 25:40.
The Mission Center houses the Marketplace and also serves as a vital resource center:
-displaying ways Bethlehem is actively involved in mission through Quilts, Lutheran World Relief Kits, mission trips, providing food and support of various outreach programs
-providing information about how individuals, families, or groups can become directly involved in mission outreach
-sharing how Bethlehem, the Nebraska Synod and the Evangelical Church in America are impacting hunger relief and responding to God’s call to care for those in need.
-creating a greater understanding of the root causes of hunger and our calling as Christ’s disciples to address these issues in our world, and communities by providing resources and opportunities for conversation.
The Mission Center is a new concept at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. It has evolved out of the Mission Marketplace to become something larger. The Mission Center will encompass many aspects of mission work and highlight what we do to fulfill our mission goals. Hunger relief has been our church-wide mission goal over the last several years.
